Established in 1982, Timbuktu serves the World's Best Burgers with friendly service in a hometown atmosphere. Relax. Enjoy. Stay.
Imagine being transported back in time to the southern edge of the Sahara Desert, were hot, scorching winds swept across dunes of sand. It is here that you would find a North African trade center called Timbuktu. The city was once a treacherous place, and an ill fate often awaited those who dared to journey there. But there was one place where travelers could seek protection and feast on a meal that would sustain them for days.
According to one legend, in the back room of this small, dark building dwelt a creature so terrifying that those who saw him cried out in fear. If you had a good heart and wished no evil on those around you, you could pet the creature and enjoy good fortune for four days and four nights. But if you had an evil heart, the creature would devour you on the spot.
The creature – who was named “Buk” – now stands on the patio of Andover’s Timbuktu Bar & Grill ready to bless you with good fortune for four days and four nights. That is, of course, if you have no evil intentions…
Locally grown and owned since 1982 Timbuktu, is often referred to as the “melting pot” of Andover. From bikers, bankers, barbers, doctors, college students, moms, dads, grandkids, celebrities, friends and neighbor - customers from across the world have shared memories and a burger in Andover, Kansas.
