The Victoria Skylar is a circa 1892, romantic Victorian inn located in beautiful Newport, Rhode Island, in the quiet, historic Point section, just steps away from Narragansett Bay, and a short walk to the shops, restaurants, and Harbor Festivals of the city. The Victoria Skylar, a Victorian-style home, has been totally renovated, without losing the charm and flavor of the period's architecture. Enjoy breakfast or tea in our award-winning rose garden.
You can choose from four beautifully decorated rooms, each with a different motif, all with new Italian-tiled private baths, and a tub shower or Jacuzzi. The rooms feature queen-size beds, done in either a carved four-poster or French chateau style, each with comfortable pillow-top mattresses, and luxury linens. Rooms are furnished with fresh flowers/chocolates, assorted bottled water, and luxury toiletries. For the comfort of our guests, we have central air conditioning, a WiFi connection available to guests throughout the inn, and Cable/Satellite TV/DVDs on Flat-screens, with a growing collection of the latest DVDs for use by our guests. Also, some of the rooms contain an eco-friendly fireplace with a warm glow that adds a romantic ambience. (Check our availability)
Guests at the Victoria Skylar awaken to the aroma of fresh-brewed Gevalia coffee, a selection of scones, tea breads, and coffee cakes. A different variety is served each day, and baked fresh just hours before, on-site. Your gourmet breakfast is served in a candlelit dining room, under a beautiffully lit English Brass chandelier, on fine china, silver, and crystal. A different entree is served each day, as well as a selection of breakfast meats, and fresh fruit and juices daily. We can also accomodate those guests who have gluten- and lactose-free dietary requirements as well.
We're open year-round. We offer special packages for various events taking place in Newport, as well as offering to our guests reduced pricing on tickets to the most sought-after attractions, including the International Tennis Hall of Fame, the Newport Preservation Society Mansions, and Rough Point, as well as many others. The Victoria Skylar also incorporates these attractions into various packages throughout the year, and work with our guests to formulate a package, specialized just for their stay.
